Participles — Umformung 1

Forme den Nebensatz in einen Partizipialsatz um. Achte darauf, ob das Present Participle oder das Past Participle passt.

B1 Umformung

Wenn das Subjekt des Nebensatzes und des Hauptsatzes identisch sind, kann der Nebensatz durch einen Partizipialsatz ersetzt werden. Aktive, gleichzeitige Handlungen → Present Participle. Passivische Bedeutung → Past Participle. Entferne das Subjekt des Nebensatzes und forme das Verb um.

Aufgabe

  1. While she was reading the newspaper, she heard a strange noise.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Reading the newspaper, she heard a strange noise.

    (aktive gleichzeitige Handlung → Present Participle)

  2. Because he was exhausted, he went straight to bed.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Exhausted, he went straight to bed.

    (passivisches Gefühl / Zustand → Past Participle)

  3. As she did not know the answer, she asked her teacher.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Not knowing the answer, she asked her teacher.

    (verneinter aktiver Partizipialsatz → not + Present Participle)

  4. Although it was written many centuries ago, the text is still relevant.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Written many centuries ago, the text is still relevant.

    (passivische Bedeutung → Past Participle)

  5. While she was waiting for the train, she called her friend.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Waiting for the train, she called her friend.

    (aktive gleichzeitige Handlung → Present Participle)

  6. Because he was surprised by the result, he read it twice.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Surprised by the result, he read it twice.

    (passivisches Gefühl → Past Participle)

  7. As it was built on a floodplain, the house is at risk of flooding.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Built on a floodplain, the house is at risk of flooding.

    (passivische Bedeutung → Past Participle)

  8. While he was walking to work, he came up with a great idea.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Walking to work, he came up with a great idea.

    (aktive gleichzeitige Handlung → Present Participle)

  9. Because she was shocked by the accident, she could not speak.

    Partizipialsatz:

    Shocked by the accident, she could not speak.

    (passivisches Gefühl → Past Participle)

  10. As it is located in the city centre, the hotel is very convenient.

    Partizipialsatz:
