Past Perfect — Lückentext 1
Setze das Verb in der richtigen Form des Past Perfect ein.
Bilde das Past Perfect mit had + Past Participle. Das Verb in Klammern steht im Infinitiv — achte auf unregelmäßige Formen. Fülle alle Lücken aus und vergleiche erst dann mit den Lösungen.

→ He had seen that film before. (frühere Erfahrung vor dem erzählten Zeitpunkt → had + PP; see → PP: seen — unregelmäßig)

→ By the time we got there, the concert had already started. (by the time → Vorvergangenheit vor Simple Past → had + PP)
- I my keys, so I could not open the door. (lose)
→ I had lost my keys, so I could not open the door. (Ursache lag vor der Wirkung → had + PP; lose → PP: lost — unregelmäßig)
- We to Paris before last summer. (never / be)
→ We had never been to Paris before last summer. (never … before → fehlende Erfahrung bis zu einem Zeitpunkt in der Vergangenheit → had never + PP)
- She the report before the meeting began. (prepare)
→ She had prepared the report before the meeting began. (before → erste Handlung abgeschlossen vor zweiter → had + PP)
- The children all the cake when their mother came home. (eat)
→ The children had eaten all the cake when their mother came home. (Ergebnis war schon eingetreten, als die andere Handlung begann → had + PP; eat → PP: eaten — unregelmäßig)
- After he the book, he returned it to the library. (read)
→ After he had read the book, he returned it to the library. (after → erste Handlung vor zweiter → had + PP; read → PP: read — unregelmäßig)
- By 2010, they in three different countries. (live)
→ By 2010, they had lived in three different countries. (by + Zeitpunkt → Vorvergangenheit → had + PP)
- The train already when we reached the station. (leave)
→ The train had already left when we reached the station. (Vorvergangenheit — Zug fuhr ab, bevor wir ankamen → had + PP; leave → PP: left — unregelmäßig)
- I never sushi before that evening. (try)
→ I had never tried sushi before that evening. (never … before → fehlende Erfahrung bis zu dem Abend → had never + PP)
- She him twice before the accident. (meet)
→ She had met him twice before the accident. (wiederholte Handlung vor dem Bezugspunkt → had + PP; meet → PP: met — unregelmäßig)
- Before they moved to London, they in a small village. (live)
→ Before they moved to London, they had lived in a small village. (before → Zustand vor einem Vergangenheitsereignis → had + PP)
- He hard all year, so he passed the exam easily. (study)
→ He had studied hard all year, so he passed the exam easily. (Vorbereitungshandlung war abgeschlossen → Ergebnis im Simple Past → had + PP)
