Subjunctive and Wishes — Umformung 1

Forme die Sätze um: von einer Struktur in eine andere, zum Beispiel von I wish in If only oder von einer Aussage in eine Wunschstruktur.

B2 Umformung

Aufgaben 1–4: schreibe den Satz mit If only um (statt I wish). Aufgaben 5–8: forme die Aussage in einen Wunschsatz mit I wish um. Aufgaben 9–10: ersetze suggest + that durch recommend + that.

Aufgabe

  1. I wish I had more free time.

    Mit „If only“:

    → If only I had more free time.

    (I wish und If only sind austauschbar; die Zeitform bleibt gleich)

  2. I wish she had told me the truth.

    Mit „If only“:

    → If only she had told me the truth.

    (I wish und If only sind austauschbar; Past Perfect bleibt unverändert)

  3. I wish you would stop making so much noise.

    Mit „If only“:

    → If only you would stop making so much noise.

    (I wish und If only sind austauschbar; would bleibt unverändert)

  4. I wish he were here right now.

    Mit „If only“:

    → If only he were here right now.

    (I wish und If only sind austauschbar; Past Subjunctive bleibt unverändert)

  5. The reality: I don’t speak Spanish. (Wunsch in der Gegenwart)

    I wish …:

    → I wish I spoke Spanish.

    (I wish + Simple Past → Wunsch über jetzt nicht Realität)

  6. The reality: She didn’t apologise. (Reue über Vergangenheit)

    I wish …:

    → I wish she had apologised.

    (I wish + Past Perfect → Wunsch über Vergangenheit)

  7. The reality: He keeps interrupting. (Kritik, Zukunft)

    I wish …:

    → I wish he would stop interrupting.

    (I wish + would → Kritik an Verhalten einer anderen Person)

  8. The reality: We live far from the city centre. (Wunsch in der Gegenwart)

    I wish …:

    → I wish we lived closer to the city centre.

    (I wish + Simple Past → Wunsch über jetzt nicht Realität)

  9. The teacher suggested that the students hand in their work early.

    Mit „recommend“:

    → The teacher recommended that the students hand in their work early.

    (suggest und recommend verlangen beide den Present Subjunctive; Verbgrundform bleibt gleich)

  10. The doctor suggested that he avoid caffeine after 3 pm.

    Mit „recommend“:

    → The doctor recommended that he avoid caffeine after 3 pm.
